in 1984 after finishing training at one of the country's top piano tuning and restoration colleges.
He offers high quality piano tuning and piano repairs / restorations to professionals, concert halls and private individuals across Yorkshire.

Chris Brown Pianos always has a selection of beautiful second hand pianos expertly restored by hand in our workshop for sale, as well as new, modern pianos to fit every budget and space.

PIANO TUNING
We offer a comprehensive tuning service that leaves any piano beautifully in tune and with an equal temperament, enabling it to be played in any key with all semitones perfectly balanced.
In addition to our tuning services we can also regulate each key to give a consistent touch and feel across the whole keyboard, making for a greatly improved playing experience.
PIANO REPAIR AND RESTORATION
Initially I will evaluate the work needed and give you a quote on time and cost.
Typical repairs include:
- Recuring keys (with a special, synthetic ivory),
- Levelling of all keys,
- Restringing,
- Replacing springs, re-felting and re-leathering,
- Repairing cosmetic damage to cabinet work including French Polishing.
